We have been hearing amazing things from many people using our products about the effects of CBD with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In fact, these results have led us to the writing of this blog. Is there any medical proof that CBD works? Can CBD work? Will it help to reduce some of the social anxiety my child has? Can it make my loved one more comfortable around others? According to those using our products, we have heard a resounding ‘Yes’. We expect there to be a lot more coming soon!
In regards to which products are popular for certain age groups, the CBD Nano Bursts are great for children. The tinctures tend to be best option for the ‘basal’ dose for the adult population. We have also heard from spouses of those with the now-defunct ‘Asperger’s’ condition (it has been re-classified as lower level Autism Spectrum Disorder) that their loved one has had significant improvement in their condition. Our response is: ‘Wow, and Awesome!’. We are so happy to hear all the good success stories.
We know that CBD helps with fear and anxiety issues and it’s likely that this benefit alone helps those with Autism Spectrum issues. In fact, many in the science community believe that a faulty endocannabinoid system (ECS or eCBD) is a main player with ASD. Deficiencies in social functioning play a large role with ASD and the ECS works to correct/improve these issues.
Oral cannabis extracts as a promising treatment for the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder: Preliminary experience in Chilean patients, by Kuester et. al, published October 15, 2017 in the Journal of the Neurological Sciences, provides us with proof that CBD can be used to help those with ASD. It does involve research using THC, but we prefer to shy away from THC use as it has psychoactive effects. In addition, it appears in this study that CBD alone will yield desired results.
It is important to note that research is starting to grow in this area of interest and it’s the amazing anecdotal success stories that are likely driving the research. Without these people sharing their stories, the results would remain a secret and less people would benefit. It’s good to get the word out as this is all about helping people!
Figuratively speaking, the ‘cat is out of the bag’ in regards to the benefits of CBD and ASD. The key now is to push the research community to continue its work studying the effects of CBD on ASD.
Being CBD is safe, many with loved ones who have ASD claim it helps the condition significantly, and research is starting to prove its benefits, now might be a good time to try it for those you know who have ASD. We’d love to hear your story as well!
Thank you for living the NN lifestyle.
