Proof that Cannabinoids Alleviate Pain Caused By Osteoarthritis

This news is HUGE and you read above correctly…Cannabinoids have now been shown to alleviate pain caused by osteoarthritis.  Wow!  We have another blog that discusses arthritis and cannabinoids and the study we reference in this blog furthers this information!  I’m happy to say that I think this topic is pretty much covered!  If you have osteoarthritis, you should to be taking CBD…period!  It can very likely help you!

This new study, conducted by Melissa O’Brien and Jason McDougall, and published in Current Opinion in Pharmacology (ScienceDirect), 2018 titled ‘Cannabis and joints: scientific evidence for the alleviation of osteoarthritis pain by cannabinoids’, discusses how the endocannabinoid system (eCB), through cannabinoids, helps to reduce pain and inflammation from osteoarthritis.  They reference how 60% of those with osteoarthritis are unhappy with their current pain management approach and who can blame them being the medications all have significant side effects.  We can all agree that it’d be best to alleviate pain and inflammation without side effects.  CBD gives us the ability to reduce pain and inflammation without the harsh side effects of many pain medications.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is THE most common musculoskeletal disease and most people get it as they age.  Age is not the only factor, though.  Overuse and  improper loading of joints will cause premature arthritis.  ‘Allostatic load’, or the cumulative effect of wear and tear on the body, is a major cause of degenerative arthritis and even those of us who are younger can be affected by this.  Although working out with weights is great for fitness and strength, it will tend to prematurely wear the body out.  This is why staying as healthy as possible on many fronts is so important.  Working throughout our adult life to minimize pain, inflammation, and degeneration is very important.

Be it neck, knee, low back, or elsewhere, degenerative arthritis activates nociceptors (50% of all your nerve endings are of this type as they sense pain) and they cause inflammation and pain.  Being the Endocannabinoid System helps to reduce systemic pain and inflammation (through immune system activation by CB2 receptors), it only makes sense that it would help with modulation of OA pain, and studies show that it does.  We applaud the current research and look forward to even more research to validate the benefits of CBD for the pain and dysfunction associated with osteoarthritis and many other conditions.

If you just started to develop OA or already have it (this means most all of us over age 30), now is a great time to start using a quality CBD product to help  with reducing the condition and dealing with the pain that comes along with it.  On this note, if you are young and active and wish to keep the body healthy and aid in workout recovery to minimize inflammation and damage caused by exercise, CBD is for you.  We hope you find Noetic Nutraceutical’s Optimize 1050 to be your product of choice.  It is of pharmaceutical strength, is organically grown, and is non-GMO.  We do not use CBD isolate but rather use phytonutrient rich concentrated CBD along with hemp seed oil and grape seed oil.  This makes our tincture have the perfect 3:1 ratio of omega 6:3 fatty acids and you also get omega-9 fatty acids from the oleic acid.  We are confident that the quality of our product cannot be beat.  Please read the testimonials on our website about our products and thank you for enjoying the NN lifestyle!
