One technique, on purpose#

Most chiropractors are generalists. They’re trained in a diversified approach and adjust based on what a patient presents with. It works, and there’s nothing wrong with it.

Genesis practices the Gonstead method exclusively, which is a different bet. Gonstead is the most measurement-heavy system in chiropractic — full-spine X-ray analysis, instrumentation that reads temperature differentials along the spine, static and motion palpation, and visualization, all before anything is adjusted. The goal is to identify the single segment that’s actually the problem and address that one, rather than adjusting broadly and hoping.

Maycee chose it at Palmer for a specific reason: the amount of data and individuality that goes into each adjustment. That’s a preference for precision over volume, and it’s a harder way to run a practice. It takes longer. It costs more in equipment and analysis time. It means telling some patients that what they came in for isn’t what’s wrong.

It’s also, from where this site sits, the interesting part. A practice that narrows its technique is making a claim it has to keep proving.

Families, and the long version of care#

Genesis is Webster certified and built around perinatal, pediatric and family wellness alongside general practice. Maycee’s stated focus is care for children and pregnant mothers — gentle, specific adjustments rather than force.

That focus has made them a fixture in the Fox Cities’ holistic health community. That’s a practitioner who will explain her reasoning at length to people who aren’t paying her. It’s a reasonable proxy for whether someone believes what they practice.

Why they’re on this site#

Two reasons, stated plainly.

The first is the thesis. Genesis is built on the idea that precision beats speed and that health is maintained rather than rescued. That’s the argument this publication exists to make, coming from people who’ve organized a business around it.
